GETTING REAL:
THE POWER OF PRESENT-CENTERED COMMUNICATION
"Presence is what makes you radiantly alive and attractive. The key to presence is honesty."
In this lively, practical workshop we will learn tools and practices for becoming more conscious of our unconscious thought patterns and communication habits. We will learn how to notice and free ourselves of the ways we “go on automatic” when we are threatened or uncomfortable—so we can communicate with power, presence, and a grounded sense of passion. Using techniques drawn from: Psychodrama, Psychosynthesis, Gestalt, Sensory Awareness, and Getting Real , we will learn and practice:
- how to clear up unfinished business from the past
- how to keep our present relationships free of accumulated unfinished business
- how to come back to being present after our fear-buttons have gotten pushed
- how to use honest communication as an "awareness practice"
- how to communicate with full-body self-awareness
- how to be more sensitive to the cues we are getting from others
- how to integrate all of our “sub-personalities” into a confident and decisive personal presence
- how to “surf life” instead of trying to control it
After this workshop, I found myself much more confident and less reactive — both in my work with clients and jurors (as a trial attorney) and in my personal life.
